You will be staying on the left bank in the 6th district, one of the most beautiful areas of Paris called Saint Germain des Prés. Its history, splendid private hotels and bustling shopping zones await the curious traveler. The apartment “Le Nid de Lucie” is located on “rue des Saint Pères”, close to the quai Voltaire on the river Seine and just steps from “Boulevard Saint Germain” and “rue de Buci”. This is really a perfect location to visit Paris.
La Seine :
La Seine is known for its books vendors and sightseeing boats. A cruise on the Seine is a unique experience as you pass under all the magnificent bridges and you will discover the most beautiful sites of Paris, a must do!!!
The church of Saint Germain des Prés:
It’s the oldest church in Paris. The church regularly opens its doors to classical music. The magnificent nave of the church is the only remnant of Roman art in Paris. The choir of the church, however, is in a primitive Gothic style.
Orsay Museum:
The museum was inaugurated on December 1st 1986. It displays French artworks, paintings, sculptures, photographs and decorative art dating back from the 19th century. Orsay museum is especially well known for its collection of impressionists such as Monet, Renoir, Cezannes, Degas and Pissaro.
Place de Buci:
Situated between “rue de Seine” and “rue de Buci”, this area is full of atmosphere and character. On your visit, you will find excellent pastries, luxury meat shops and terraces galore situated to catch the days’first rays of sun.
Latin Quarter:
The latin Quarter takes in the prestigious university “La Sorbonne” well known for its animated atmosphere and numerous cafes and bistros. The Latin Quarter is home to “La Sorbonne” but also other establishments of higher learning “L’école normale Supérieure”, “L’école des Mines” and the “Universitée de Jussieu”
Luxembourg gardens
One of Paris’s most scenic city parks. Interesting playgrounds for children. Path-laced, greenery makes for calming break from sightseeing. The Luxembourg Palace in the gardens now houses the Senate.
The Louvre Museum:
The largest of Paris’museums found just across the river from the apartment. This ancient Royal Palace with its signature glass pyramid houses many important works of art and will take days of exploration to see it all..
